I hear a lot on talk radio that I disagree with but not too much that offends me. Now I have been offended twice in two weeks. Last week it was Limbaugh saying that Obama’s State of the Union message could have come from Fidel Castro (I missed his “retard” rant this week). If speech alone can be treason, then that hit awfully close. Thursday it was Glenn Beck, mocking Obama’s appearance at a prayer breakfast.
Turns out that what Obama was saying wasn’t part of an actual prayer, which makes Beck’s remarks slightly less evil, I suppose. It wa’s still pretty damn low. How can you mock a man for going somewhere to pray?
It’s despicable. Disloyal. Un-American. Shameful. Why do local radio stations tolerate it?

David – you know the answer.
It’s because they have a ton of listeners.
If they had no audience, they’d be gone – and perpetually struggling, like NPR.
Except that NPR has far more listeners, Eric. You could look it up.
Besides, why are you making a case for legalized prostitution?
Ooops David – you busted me –
I was thinking of Air America – the liberals answer to Conservative talk radio –
And, yes, the media are prostitutes in a way. Because they are in a business to make money, not pursue pure ideology. I do not fault them for that.
Let’s take a look at the much-criticized Billings Gazette;
They’ve never seen a tax they didn’t like, and they always promote the most liberal candidates in their ‘Gazette Editorials’ , unless of course, they know the other guy is going to win. James Knox got his lesson on this during the last council race, when he went in for his interview with Angela Cimmino, and the Gazette staff was telling her “Wouldn’t it be nice if you win this time” before the interview even commenced.
But they still need advertisers, and they still need revenue, so no matter how much the liberals hate WALMART, I’ll bet you a fine bottle of MEZCAL that they have an ad for them next week.
And I predict that they’ll accept campaign money from conservative candidates too. Ideology runs into the dollar once in a while – LOL
Have a great day -
“They always promote the most liberal candidates …”
Eric, I don’t see that, but then I read the City Edition. You must be reading the Deranged Edition.
We can go over recent history if you’d like – you’ll see that I am correct.
My criticism of them is justified, and correct most of the time. I admit, sometimes issues could go either way, and if they don’t happen to agree with me I criticize it, but that’s not too often .
They’ll endorse a Denny Rehberg, when it’s obvious that he’d win by 20 points, but that’s the exception, not the rule down there.
And if you can direct me to any tax or fee or spending proposal that they didn’t like – I’ll come by with that bottle of MEZCAL tonight.
