The Billings Blog slowly springs back to life. It’s been a long break, spurred first by an insanely busy schedule last spring, then a string of technical changes and problems. Now the blog is back, and I have to admit I’m not entirely sure I’m happy about that.
When I banned myself from the Electric City Weblog site at 7:27 p.m. on May 11, 2011 (see comment 25 on this thread, if you care), I had no particular purpose in mind. It just occurred to me that I was 60 years old, was working way too much, and had seen a string of deaths among friends and family that seems unlikely to stop until I join the line. I just decided I didn’t have enough life left in me to waste more of it arguing with assholes. This morning when I was gearing up to start posting here again, I visited the Montana Cowgirl Blog and immediately stumbled into this pointless comment thread. It was nearly enough to put me off the whole project.
Fortunately, perhaps because I have been such a slovenly blogger, this blog has been weeded to a point that the people who comment here are nearly always people I am happy to hear from. I hope to hear from you all again. And I will try to keep myself from wandering off anywhere else.
