  1. Checking facts in political ads is not unlike examine dog feces for nutrient content. All ads contain facts – they are the jumping-off point in that manipulative enterprise.

    The bottom line in your rant is the problem of maintaining journalistic objectivity. By definition that reduces you to “which side.” That illusion reduces American journalism to such mundane exercises as examining the content of politics ads for factual content.
