Helane Keosa “Kay” (Olind) Maack, 92, who had farmed in Hardin and St. Xavier, died Thursday, Aug. 15, 2013, following a massive stroke.
She was born June 15, 1921, in Harrison to Edna Parsons Olind and Charles Edwards Olind. She graduated from Harrison High School and married Ernest Maack on June 20, 1939. After working in Harrison and Oshkosh, Wis., Mr. and Mrs. Maack farmed at Hardin and St. Xavier. They retired to Billings in 1976.
Survivors include four children, Tony Maack of Harrison, Janie Brown of Billings, Karen Peterson of Hamilton and Debby Bruland of Yakima, Wash.; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; sisters, Rose Zier of Hardin and Inez Reynolds of Dillon; and a brother, George Olind of Baker.
Services were Aug. 19 at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church in Billings. Interment followed in Harrison Cemetery. Arrangements were by Cremation & Funeral Gallery.
Memorials may be sent to Big Horn County Museum, Mt. Olive Lutheran Church or RiverStone Hospice.
